They’re cute, they’re crawly… they’re Caterpillars! We are going to take a classic craft idea and turn it into a new fun friend. This craft is inspired by one of our favourite children’s books, The Hungry Caterpillar!

Craft Instructions

1) First, you are going to take your construction paper and cut your rings. If you are making an easier caterpillar, you can use thicker rings. For a harder craft, try thinner rings with multiple colours.

2) Once your image is done, fold the paper in half so you can make your cuts with the scissors. Once its folded, cut vertically starting at the folded point.

3) Once you have all your rings, glue on your Wiggly Eyes, and add your face! Some small pieces of construction paper make great feelers! If you are using multiple rings per link, you will want to use a single, thick ring on each end.

There you go, you have created a new summertime friend. We created two caterpillars, our Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar and a multicoloured caterpillar inspired by the Monarch Caterpillar.
