It is said that an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Well, we think that making an apple a day keeps the boredom away! In this week’s craft, we are using paper plates to make apples using construction paper, a paper plate, and our favourite colouring tools.

Craft Instructions

1) First, take your paper plate and trace where you would like to cut. If you want a fully eaten apple, you will need to cut a section from both sides of your apple. For an apple with a single bite, only cut out one side of your plate. Once your lines are drawn, grab your scissors and make your cuts.

2) After you have cut out your apple, use your favourite type of colouring tool to colour in your apple. We made our green apple with Kwik Stix and our red apple with Colorations Washable Markers. Add in extra colours to meet your needs. We used a black Kwik Stix for the apple seeds.

3) After you are done colouring your apple, use some brown construction paper to make your apple stem and glue it to the back of your plate.

4) For some added flair you can use some green construction paper for a leaf, or maybe make a worm who stopped in for a bite!
