Let’s have some fun with flags! Making flags is one of our favourite crafts to do right before Canada Day. It is a fun and engaging way to learn about the Canadian Flag. But making flags can be great for any day. What type of flag can you make? A country flag? A pirate flag? Or do you have your own flag that you want to wave?

Craft Instructions

1) Our first step is to take our white paper sheet and fold it in half so that the sides of the pages touch. Then use your crafting scissors to cut the piece of paper in half. We will be using one of these pieces to make our flag.

2) Next, take one of your paper halves and fold it in half again. Then with your glue stick, apply glue to both the inside flaps of your flag.

3) Next, we will put our popsicle stick so that one of the stick edges is lined up with the paper fold line, now fold the other side of the paper over so that the two glue sides press together. Make sure to press all over the paper so that it sticks well.

4) Next, use your favourite colouring tool to make your flag. We made a Canadian Flag to get us ready for Canada Day. What fun flags can you create?
